    Description

The Ambrosia Apple (Malus domestica 'Ambrosia') is celebrated for its naturally sweet flavor and crisp, juicy texture. This delightful apple variety, originating from British Columbia, Canada, is perfect for those who appreciate a balance of sweetness and crunch in their fruit. The Ambrosia Apple features a beautiful pinkish-red blush over a creamy yellow background, creating an eye-catching addition to any fruit bowl. Caring for an Ambrosia Apple tree is straightforward. It thrives in full sun and requires regular watering, especially during dry periods. Plant it in well-drained, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0 to 7.0 to ensure healthy growth. The tree grows to a manageable height of 12 to 15 feet, with a spread of about 10 feet, making it suitable for home gardens. Beyond its visual and taste appeal, the Ambrosia Apple is a versatile fruit. Enjoy it fresh as a healthy snack, or incorporate it into salads, desserts, and juicing. Its low acidity and juicy texture make it a favorite among apple enthusiasts. Discovered as a chance seedling in the 1990s, the Ambrosia Apple has quickly become a beloved variety due to its exceptional flavor and attractive appearance. Whether you're an avid gardener or simply love fresh fruit, the Ambrosia Apple is a delightful addition to your home garden or kitchen.

    FAQs

How do i know the size of the plant?

As is typical in Nursery and Garden Center sales, the plants are listed by the size of the container in which they are grown. While we are in the process of standardizing how our plants are listed here online, many of them still have the notations from the grower's availability list. Here are some common ones that you will see on our website:

    • 17cm = about 6.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • 19cm = about 7.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • G1 = 1 gallon container
    • G2 = 2 gallon container
    • G3 = 3 gallon container

The size of the actual plant will vary greatly based on the plant, season, and growing stage. In some cases we can provide some more details from the grower as requested.
