    Description

Anna's Magic Ball® Arborvitae, or Thuja occidentalis 'Anna van Vloten', is a delightful dwarf evergreen that brings a burst of golden-yellow color to your garden all year round. Its compact, spherical form reaches a mature size of only 10-15 inches, making it perfect for small spaces, container gardening, or as a unique accent in larger landscapes. The bright, persistent foliage provides an effortless way to add visual interest without overwhelming your garden design. This charming arborvitae thrives in full sun to partial shade and is well-suited to USDA hardiness zones 3-7. It prefers well-drained soil and, once established, is drought-tolerant, requiring minimal watering. Its low maintenance nature makes it an excellent choice for gardeners seeking beauty and ease in their outdoor spaces. Anna's Magic Ball® is not just about aesthetics; it's a practical solution for those looking to enhance their landscape with minimal effort. Its consistent color and tidy form make it ideal for year-round appeal, whether used as a standalone feature or in group plantings. This plant also carries a touch of Canadian horticultural heritage, having been developed by Van Vloten. Its resilience in cold climates and vibrant appearance even in winter months make it a standout choice for gardens across a wide range of environments. Whether you're a novice gardener or a seasoned enthusiast, Anna's Magic Ball® offers a simple yet stunning way to elevate your garden's charm.

    FAQs

How do i know the size of the plant?

As is typical in Nursery and Garden Center sales, the plants are listed by the size of the container in which they are grown. While we are in the process of standardizing how our plants are listed here online, many of them still have the notations from the grower's availability list. Here are some common ones that you will see on our website:

    • 17cm = about 6.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • 19cm = about 7.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • G1 = 1 gallon container
    • G2 = 2 gallon container
    • G3 = 3 gallon container

The size of the actual plant will vary greatly based on the plant, season, and growing stage. In some cases we can provide some more details from the grower as requested.
