    Description

Arnold's Promise Witchhazel (Hamamelis × intermedia 'Arnold Promise') is a remarkable shrub that brings a burst of sunshine to your garden just when you need it most. As winter's chill begins to wane, this plant's bright yellow, fragrant flowers bloom, signaling the arrival of spring. With its graceful, vase-shaped form, Arnold's Promise grows to a mature height and width of 12-15 feet, making it a perfect focal point for any landscape. This witchhazel thrives in well-drained soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH and prefers full sun to partial shade. It's hardy in USDA zones 5 through 8, ensuring it can withstand a range of climates. Regular watering is essential, particularly during dry periods, but the plant is otherwise low-maintenance, making it an excellent choice for both novice and experienced gardeners. Beyond its stunning appearance, Arnold's Promise offers ecological benefits by attracting early pollinators, contributing to a healthy garden ecosystem. Whether you're looking to add winter interest to your garden or seeking a hardy, reliable shrub that requires minimal care, this witchhazel is an ideal choice. Its historical use in traditional medicine for its astringent properties adds an intriguing layer to its appeal. With Arnold's Promise, you'll not only enhance your garden's beauty but also create a welcoming haven for nature's early visitors.

    FAQs

How do i know the size of the plant?

As is typical in Nursery and Garden Center sales, the plants are listed by the size of the container in which they are grown. While we are in the process of standardizing how our plants are listed here online, many of them still have the notations from the grower's availability list. Here are some common ones that you will see on our website:

    • 17cm = about 6.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • 19cm = about 7.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • G1 = 1 gallon container
    • G2 = 2 gallon container
    • G3 = 3 gallon container

The size of the actual plant will vary greatly based on the plant, season, and growing stage. In some cases we can provide some more details from the grower as requested.
