    Description

The Green Pillar® Pin Oak, or Quercus palustris 'Pringreen', brings a touch of elegance and structure to any home garden. This striking oak is renowned for its upright, columnar shape, making it perfect for narrow spaces or as a dramatic vertical accent. Native to North America, it thrives in acidic, moist soils and can adapt to a variety of garden conditions. Typically reaching heights of up to 60 feet with a slender spread of 15 feet, it provides a stately presence without overwhelming the landscape. The glossy, dark green foliage turns a brilliant red in the fall, offering a stunning seasonal display. To ensure its health, plant the Green Pillar® Pin Oak in a sunny location with regular watering, especially during dry periods. It thrives in USDA zones 4 to 8, making it suitable for a wide range of climates. This oak's ability to withstand urban pollution and varied soil conditions makes it an excellent choice for homeowners seeking a low-maintenance yet visually impactful tree. Its unique form can serve as a natural privacy screen or windbreak, and its beautiful fall color enhances any garden aesthetic. With its combination of beauty, practicality, and ease of care, the Green Pillar® Pin Oak is a superb choice for enhancing your outdoor space.

    FAQs

How do I know the size of the plant?

As is typical in Nursery and Garden Center sales, the plants are listed by the size of the container in which they are grown. While we are in the process of standardizing how our plants are listed here online, many of them still have the notations from the grower's availability list. Here are some common ones that you will see on our website:

    • 17cm = about 6.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • 19cm = about 7.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • G1 = 1 gallon container
    • G2 = 2 gallon container
    • G3 = 3 gallon container

The size of the actual plant will vary greatly based on the plant, season, and growing stage. In some cases we can provide some more details from the grower as requested.
