    Description

The Pagoda Dogwood, scientifically known as Cornus alternifolia, is a striking addition to any garden with its unique, layered branch structure that resembles a pagoda. This charming tree offers a stunning display throughout the seasons, with its graceful, horizontal branches adorned with lush, green leaves that transition to vibrant shades of red in the fall. In late spring, enjoy the delicate beauty of its creamy-white flower clusters that not only add visual interest but also attract pollinators. Reaching a mature height of 15-25 feet, the Pagoda Dogwood is perfect for those looking to add a medium-sized tree that provides both shade and ornamental value. It thrives best in partial shade and prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soil, making it a low-maintenance choice for gardeners. This tree also produces dark blue berries in the summer, which are a favorite among birds, enhancing your garden's biodiversity. Ideal for creating a serene, naturalistic landscape, the Pagoda Dogwood is an excellent choice for homeowners seeking to enhance their outdoor spaces with a touch of elegance and ecological benefit. Its adaptability and year-round interest make it a rewarding investment for any garden enthusiast.

    FAQs

How do i know the size of the plant?

As is typical in Nursery and Garden Center sales, the plants are listed by the size of the container in which they are grown. While we are in the process of standardizing how our plants are listed here online, many of them still have the notations from the grower's availability list. Here are some common ones that you will see on our website:

    • 17cm = about 6.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • 19cm = about 7.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • G1 = 1 gallon container
    • G2 = 2 gallon container
    • G3 = 3 gallon container

The size of the actual plant will vary greatly based on the plant, season, and growing stage. In some cases we can provide some more details from the grower as requested.
