The Weeping Pussy Willow (Salix Caprea Pendula) is a charming ornamental tree that brings a touch of elegance to any garden with its graceful, cascading branches adorned with soft, silvery-gray catkins in early spring. This beautiful tree reaches a manageable height of 4 to 8 feet with a spread of 4 to 6 feet, making it perfect for small gardens or as a focal point in larger landscapes. Its unique weeping form creates a stunning visual effect, providing year-round interest. Caring for your Weeping Pussy Willow is straightforward. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soil, though it can handle occasional waterlogged conditions. Hardy in USDA zones 4-8, this tree is resilient and requires minimal maintenance, with only occasional pruning needed to maintain its iconic shape. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Weeping Pussy Willow is an early source of nectar for pollinators, supporting local ecosystems. Historically, it has been associated with spring and renewal, adding a layer of cultural significance to its beauty. Whether you're looking to enhance your garden's visual appeal or contribute to local biodiversity, the Weeping Pussy Willow is an excellent choice for plant enthusiasts of all levels.

    FAQs

How do i know the size of the plant?

As is typical in Nursery and Garden Center sales, the plants are listed by the size of the container in which they are grown. While we are in the process of standardizing how our plants are listed here online, many of them still have the notations from the grower's availability list. Here are some common ones that you will see on our website:

    • 17cm = about 6.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • 19cm = about 7.5" diameter = 1 gallon container
    • G1 = 1 gallon container
    • G2 = 2 gallon container
    • G3 = 3 gallon container

The size of the actual plant will vary greatly based on the plant, season, and growing stage. In some cases we can provide some more details from the grower as requested.
